The innovative pivoting arms solve the space issue with traditional saws but over time I could see a lot of play or blade deflection in comparison to the tried and true dual horizontal steel rails on the Makita. Also, it appears when looking at the Bosch compound miter saw reviews there are a few customers experiencing issues with sloppy cuts, blade deflection, and not cutting square which may be due to quality control issues with the Axial-Glide technology. However, there are countless reviews in which the miter saw runs perfectly fine and produces perfect 90-degree cuts. The saw utilized 2 pivoting arms rather than steel rails to minimize the work space needed for the saw and allow you to place the saw flush against a wall. The Bosch also has a thumb lever to quickly adjust the bevel angle from the front of the saw for ease of use.
The Bosch dual bevel sliding miter saw is a very capable saw but comes in slightly below the Makita. The saw is able to cut boards 14 inches wide at 90 degrees which is 1 inch less than the Makita. Also, the saw can cut 6.5-inch crown molding vertically nested which is 1.5 inches less than the Makita.
