Festool Standard Cleaning Set

I personally have been using the Festool standard cleaning set for about 3 years now and it has absolutely helped to keep my shop clean. It has nearly every attachment you need including a crevice nozzle, extension tubes, and a floor nozzle. I can also see this accessory being very useful for contractors who need a quick cleanup on job sites. The main thing I love is it includes a systainer that keeps all the pieces well organized and can mount to your dust extractor. This cleaning set has been the best Festool accessory I have bought by far and I highly recommend it.

Pros:

  • Comprehensive Kit

  • High Quality

  • Includes Systainer

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Multiple Parts

ToolCurve Coiled Hose Clips

One of my biggest gripes is keeping the extractor hose and cord away from my saw bade when using a track saw or keeping it together when sanding. I have been just rapping the cord around the hose sleeve but these hose clips from ToolCurve would make things drastically easier. They simply clip over the standard smooth exterior of the 27 mm hose and hold the power cord with no effort or hassle. I will definitely be ordering a set of these here soon and wish Festool products came standard with cord management hose clips.

Pros:

  • Cheap

  • Ease of Use

Cons:

  • Plastic

  • May Come Off

Festool Bluetooth Remote Control Set

Unless you have a CT MIDI dust extractor a great upgrade to your extractor is the Bluetooth module. The add-on module is only available on the CT dust extractors like the CT 26, CT 36, or CT 48. By adding this module it adds a manual control on the extractor hose to quickly turn on the extractor manually. If you have cordless power tools the Bluetooth remote is a must since you can't utilize the automatic outlet. If you consistently use batter-powered tools with your dust extractor you can't go wrong with the Bluetooth remote control set.

Pros:

  • Convenience

  • Time Savings

  • Cordless Operation

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Limited To CT Models

Festool CT Mounted Tool Holder

If you're consistently using a sander with your dust extractor you probably have laid your sander down and a few seconds later had it fall off your workbench. This has happened to me countless times due to the Festool suction hose pulling my sander off the table. The CT Mounted Tool Holder is a cheap way to hold your power tools, sanders, or even the hose while preventing any mishaps or damage. The Festool tool holder simply slides down into two of the holes in the hose garage

Pros:

  • Cheap

  • Versatile

  • Convenience

Cons:

  • Compatibility

  • May Limit Systainer Use

Festool Mobile Workcenter

With the Festool Mobile Workcenter you can quickly turn your dust extractor into a mobile tool cart with organization for all your Festool power tools. The Workcenter simply installs on top of the hose garage and has room for additional systainers under the shelving and tool holders. If you're consistently working on jobsites the Mobile Workcenter is the perfect accessory to minimize the time to transport tools and move your stuff from one task to another.

Pros:

  • Time Saver

  • Organization

  • Versatile

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Size

  • Limited Mobility

Festool CT Boom Arm

If you are using your Festool Sander with your Festool vacuum, the boom arm support bracket will make your life so much easier. I constantly find myself tripping over the hose and power cord while constantly fighting them when I'm sanding. Having an elevated cord and extractor hose saves a lot of time and can speed up your sanding process. Also, the kit included the CT handle making the extractor easier to move around your shop. One major drawback is the boom arm is only designed for use on the CT 26 and CT 36 dust extractors.

Pros:

  • Time Savings

  • Convenience

  • Versatility

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Limited Compatibility

  • Large Footprint

Festool CT Cyclone Dust Separator

If you want a longer service life for your HEPA filters and dust bags the Festool CT Cyclone dust collection pre-separator is the perfect accessory. The CT Cyclone quickly integrates onto your dust extractor by using the built-in systainer mounts on top of the hose garage. It is compatible with all Festool's dust extractors and works to separate the larger wood chips and dust from entering your main filter and reducing your suction power. It also extends your filter bag life and minimizes the long-term cost of maintaining your extractor. The CT Cyclone is designed for someone who uses dust extraction on a daily basis or for a business that wants to reduce maintenance time and consumables for their dust extractor.

Pros:

  • Time Savings

  • Cost Savings

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Bulky

Festool Longlife Filter Bag

If you want to minimize your overall cost of keeping your dust extractor running you can easily upgrade your filter bag to Festool's Longlife filter bag. The initial investment is pretty steep but you will never have to buy another filter bag again. The cost of the Longlife filter bag is the equivalent of about 26 standard one-time-use bags potentially saving you tons of money over the long term. The Longlife filter bag can be used over 500 times which can be very helpful if you plan to use it as your sole source of dust collection or in a business.

Pros:

  • Minimize Long Term Cost

  • Longevity

  • Convenience

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Manual Emptying

  • Time-Consuming

ToolCurve Hose & Plug-It Holder

If you are invested in the Festool ecosystem and already have an MFT table the ToolCurve Hose & Plug-It Holder is a good accessory to make life easier. The holder easily slides into the side rails of the MFT and will hold your antistatic hose and plug-it cord while you swap out tools. The last thing you want to do is step on your hose or cord and break it and this cheap holder will prevent that from happening.

Pros:

  • Time Saver

  • Durable

  • Adjustable

Cons:

  • Expensive

  • Compatibility

  • May Snag On Clothes

Final Thoughts

Overall Festool dust extractors are great tools to have in the shop but can be drastically improved with a few accessories. I personally think the Festool standard cleaning set is a must-have accessory and couldn't live without it myself and the hose clips could make things easier. I also think if you are consistently in the shop, accessories like the boom arm or the mobile workstation would easily speed up your woodworking process and likely save you money in the long run. Also, if you're a business the CT Cyclone or the Longlife filter will easily pay for themselves over time.
